Sanyo has launched two new ultra-portable projectors, the
PLC-XW250 and the
PLC-XW200. With an eco stand-by power mode that uses only .4 watts, and the company's Easy Setup Function, the new models are expected to offer educators good cost performance, according to company officials.
"The importance of creating electronics with the environment in mind cannot be overstated," said
Mark Holt, vice president and general manager for
Sanyo's Presentation Technologies Group, in a statement.
"With these two portable projectors, Sanyo is taking the lead in providing products that consume less power when in stand-by mode."Company officials claim the
PLC-XW250 and
PLC-XW200 are
Sanyo's most ecological data projectors to date. The eco power stand-by mode saves approximately 80 percent of the energy that was consumed by previous
Sanyo projectors. Redesigning the electrical circuits enabled the two projectors to comply with the EuP-Directive Lot 6 and the EU RoHS Directive.
Both projectors employ
Sanyo's Easy Setup Function, as well as Auto Input Signal Search, Auto Vertical Keystone Correction, and an Input Guidance Function. The Auto Input Signal Search automatically detects the input signal and makes necessary internal settings. The Auto Vertical Keystone Correction function automatically detects its position angle and corrects for any image distortion. Lastly, the Guidance Function displays on-screen connection instructions when there's no input signal detected.
The
PLC-XW250 and
PLC-XW200 use the existing LAN terminal to be controlled and managed via network connection. The LAN connection supports setting power on/off, switching input signals, projecting from a remote location, and monitoring lamp conditions and usage time. By using
Sanyo's PJ Network Manager software, administrators can centrally monitor operating conditions of up to 200 projectors on a single network.
Providing a native resolution of 1280x768, the projectors can display HD material with an aspect ratio of 4:3. The company says the models' compact dimensions and light weight make them suitable for educational or business presentation applications. The
PLC-XW250 emits 2,600 lumens, the
PLC-XW200 2,200 lumens.
The
PLC-XW250 and
PLC-XW200 will be available this month with suggested retail prices of $895 and $795, respectively.
